INSTRUCTIONS

Final Project: Sex 101 Education

Students were told to form a group consists of 6-7 members to work the final project together. The final project themed 'Sex 101 Education' is a motion graphic video task which is split into 2 chapters, Your Body and Family Planning. After forming a group, we were given time to do research and condense the given script and develop a suitable visual narrative to deliver an awareness motion graphic video about the topic Sex Education 101. Our group decided to choose the second chapter, 'Family Planning' after a long discussion.

For the first week, the task is to create a mood board and style frames for the 3 most challenging scene. Below here is our group's mood board and the 3 most challenging scene.

Next, we began to create our storyboard.

After the sketches are done, we then proceed to the next part, which is the sketches and animatics. For the sketches and animatics, we divided the parts so each of us can have contribution.
Part distribution:
- Frame 18: Angelyn

- Frame 21: Angelyn
- Frame 22: Lulu

Then I started doing the animatics.

Here's my parts animatics and the whole parts animatics. Actually, there's an error while I did my parts. I forgot to give background color so it turns out black which makes it looks so terrible. After exporting the video, I forgot to do the double check and sent it immediately to my teammate to compile it. However, here I put the original version with the background added.

Next, after getting approval from Mr. Martin, we proceed to make the real illustration and animation. We decided to split into 2 teams, illustrator and animator, and I chose to be in the animation team. Here's the project breakdown.


I chose to animate frame 18-21 at first, but then Angelyn offered me a help to animate her part which is frame 18, so I only did the animation for frame 19-21. I also did some illustration frame since some parts that I needed to animate are missing.

After finishing it, I compiled all my parts with Angelyn's since it has the same audio.

FEEDBACK

Some illustration and animation parts can be better. Make sure to put sound effects on the animation.

REFLECTIONS

Through this group project, I realized that working together with a group is actually a bit difficult. We can't really control everyone and their work and we also might not get the result 100% the same as we desired. It was a bit difficult at first, however, as the time passes, I think I have become more considerate than before. I can work well with the team and I think all we need as a group is a great communication. With good communication, we can have better results. Regardless, I really enjoyed the whole process of this project because I learnt so much new things here.
