INSTRUCTIONS

Task 4: Research Reflection Report & Recorded Presentation

The final compilation in this research reflection report consists of the entire research journey from the formulation of the research proposal, research–critical review (secondary data), and research design (primary data and analysis). This research experience ought to have its reflection on each section of the processes that have been undertaken.

The students are to produce a digital publication (PDF) reflection report and a five minutes recorded presentation (audio, video, and slides presentation). The reflection report ought to be organized and complete with the following:
1. Research Proposal – covering the research topic/area, title,
– Research Title
– Research topic/area
– Research Rationale
– Research Problem
– Problem Statement
– Research objective(s)
– Research question(s)
– Summary Research Reflection

2. Critical review (Secondary Research)
– Summary Research Reflection

3. Research Design
– Selection and justification of primary research methods
– Data collected and analysis of primary research
– Summary Research Reflection

4. Research Conclusion
– Overall Research Reflection

5. Reference list (APA version 7)

6. Picture credit list

Students are required to submit three files,  Research Report in PDF, Recorded Presentation, and Presentation Powerpoint slides. Below are the requirements and my submissions for the final assignment.

Research Reflection Report
- Place reflection (positive and negative) and compile all tasks given - Assignment 1 (Proposal), Assignment 2 (Critical Review), and Assignment 3 (Research Implementation – Primary Data) into one PDF file.
- Label the file as <Your name>_Research Reflection Report.
- Type Design Research Methodology RES60604 Assignment 4 – Research Reflection Report, your full name, and student number at the top of the page.
- All pages are to be numbered.
- Make sure all the assignments are up-to-date, improved, or amended based on the written and/or verbal feedback given throughout the semester.

And this is my research reflection report file in PDF format.

Recorded Presentation
- Simplify your report in PowerPoint (maximum 20 slides). Refer to Week 12 lecture slides as a guide.
- In Zoom, record you presenting your research by sharing the screen of your PowerPoint slides. Your face must be seen and your voice must be clearly audible.
- When that is done, including the link of your recorded Zoom presentation in the first slide of the PowerPoint slides.
- Type Design Research Methodology RES60604 Assignment 4 – Recorded Presentation, your full name and student number on the slide cover.
- Save and label the PowerPoint file as <Your name>_ Recorded Presentation
- We strongly recommend you do the video in Zoom since it is more convenient and straightforward.

And this is my research report presentation slides and the recorded presentation.

FEEDBACK

WEEK 12

Dr. Hayati suggested me to contact Taylor’s alumni that are working in UI/UX industry since I haven’t received any responses yet for my email interview. She also gave me their contact (email) and Behance profile so I can reach them. I was also told to revise my critical review.

WEEK 13

Dr. Hayati advised me to send another email to the experts that had responded to my first email but haven’t answered the interview in Google Forms that is provided in my second email. Try not to use “I” or “We” when writing your statement, use your name or third person. Don’t forget to use the APA format.

WEEK 14

No class

WEEK 15

Dr. Hayati said that students are not allowed to just compile everything, we need to make the conclusion and the reflection during the project. We are only allowed to submit a maximum of 5 minutes of the presentation video, so make sure to only present the important and remarkable information.

REFLECTIONS

WEEK 12

I was a bit frustrated because it is already Week 12, but there’s still nobody filling out the Google Forms link that I sent. Even though there are 4 out of 6 experts are willing to participate, none of them is completing the interview. Due to that, I can’t start doing the analysis on that, and can only proceed with the data that I collected from the survey questionnaire.

WEEK 13

Finally, there is one expert that responded to my interview question. Actually, I aimed for at least 3 different responses, but since the data collecting time is over and I have to submit the primary data collection the latest by week 12, so I have no choice but to submit the only response that I received. And because of this situation, I couldn’t submit my primary data collection on time even though my other research methodology is done.

WEEK 14

While waiting for more responses to my qualitative research, I did a revision to my critical review assignment. I also continue to finish my research report reflection file and presentation deck.

WEEK 15

I realized that I was being too relaxed during this last assignment. I thought that it could be finished in a short time but turns out I was wrong. Things are getting hectic, I have to complete the submission of every module’s final project in the same week, so I have to rush on this assignment at the very last minute. DRM module itself has 3 tasks to be submitted at the end of week 15, so I need to rush everything for a few nights near the submission date. Thankfully I have done my revised critical review, so at least it reduces one of my burdens.
