Final Project
The final project for this module requires students to choose between two things to do. The given choices are stop motion and visual effects. Students are free to choose which to perform for their final project. For me, I decided to create a stop motion video for my final project submission. And for the instrument, I chose to use paper cuts.
First thing first, I watched three stop motion videos on Youtube. These three videos that I'm choosing will be my references for my project later. Here are the videos. 1. Giangrade – Paper Plane

2. "Coco" – Paper Cut Out Animation

3. Cleansing the sleepy friend's face

After watching those stop motion videos, I started to think of what story to perform for my stop motion video. This is my proposal for my final project stop motion.
Next step, I design the storyboard of my stop motion.

After finishing the storyboard, I began to make the property a.k.a my paper cuts.

Since my tripod was borrowed by my friend, so I can't shoot my stop motion with the tripod. Afterward, I tried to create an alternative so I can still shoot my footage properly. I did the shooting with my phone camera because I don't have a DSLR/mirrorless camera.

Shooting is done, I then proceed to import my footage to my laptop and begin to edit them in Adobe Premiere Pro. I imported all the selected footage and start to find the sound effects and background music for the stop motion video. Some of the sound effects are my voice, but most of them were downloaded audios from Freesound and mixkit. Here is my editing process.

Finally, this is the final outcome for my final project stop motion. The title is "Gloomy Lilsun". The story is about a little boy named 'Lilsun'.
Here's the synopsis:
Lilsun is a little boy who’s a homebody because his strict parents rarely allow him to play with the outside world. He’s quite jealous and sad seeing his friends playing together every day. One day, their family went to a theme park together. They were playing the same attraction together, but since it was too crowded and packed, the parents suddenly lost him. They were looking for Lilsun for the entire day and still couldn’t find him. At the same time but in the other place, Lilsun was riding another attraction by himself enjoying his life for a day. He was so happy without knowing that his family is about to stress out searching for him. But after the sun is setting, they finally met up again because there was no more crowd. The parents really show their worried faces, but the boy is 180 degrees different. Despite being apart from his family, he smiles so brightly at their encounter.

REFLECTIONS
This final project was very tiring for me. It took me about 5 days to finish it (if the time is accumulated). Actually, this is my second time making a stop motion video, but the first time I did it was around 7 years ago, so I barely have any memories of how to make it. I was so excited at first knowing that we were going to create our own stop motion video. I thought it'll be very fun and enjoyable, but turns out I was wrong. I really wanna cry doing it because I made the paper cuts too small. Though I already recreate the new paper cuts but turns out it was still small. I was so frustrated at that moment because I really have little time to finish this assignment because I also have other assignments to complete. So at last, I decided to use the second paper cuts and it was very difficult to create the movement since the objects are too small. I spent about 3 hours sitting on the floor with my back in a bent position because I kept messing up the position of the paper cuts. However, despite all the hardships that I encountered during the process, I realized that this project was actually fun. I was actually enjoying it but I didn't really realize it because I kept complaining about everything. The whole journey was really tiring but fun at the same time.
