Project 1: Trending Experience & Project Proposal
Students are to explore the current, popular trend in the market to gain a better understanding of the technologies and knowledge in creating content for those technologies. Students will conduct research and experiment to find out features and limitations which will later allow them to make decisions on which technologies they should proceed within their final project.
Based on the findings, students are required to come up with an experience design project from a subject/topic of their choice. This can be anything from screen experience to physical space experience.
During the first meeting, Mr. Razif showed us the past project from our seniors. We were told to come up with three ideas for the final project. I actually already have one in mind after seeing the senior work, which is an AR app for scanning K-Pop albums. However, since we have to show 3 ideas, so I have to look for the other 2.
So here are my ideas for this project:
1. K-Pop album scanner
2. Cooking assistant
3. Make-up assistant
However, after the discussion, I decided to go with my first idea, which is a K-Pop album scanner. So, I started to think of the problem statement and the goals of this project.
• Project Idea
This app allows users to scan K-Pop album covers using their smartphone's camera and unlocks various interactive features. Once it is scanned, the app retrieves all the songs from the album and provides an option to play them directly from the app so that users don't need to find a CD player to play the songs. Additionally, users can view the artist's high-resolution images to enhance their overall experience. The app provides K-Pop fans with a comprehensive and interesting platform for exploring K-Pop albums by combining a simple way of accessing music with the appealing look of the artist's visuals.
• Problem Statement
Originally, the consumption of K-Pop albums is primarily focused on audio streaming, the other contents inside the album such as photo cards, stickers, or posters are only a benefit of buying the album. However, these days, fans who buy a physical album to listen to the songs are lesser than the ones who didn't. K-Pop fans buy physical K-Pop albums only to get a photo card with the face of the artist. They tend to neglect the rest of the album contents, which includes the CD itself. Some rich fans even buy plenty of albums only to win the fan sign event raffle. It is not rare to find neglected albums on the street in South Korea.
• Goals of the Project
To let users discover and explore K-Pop albums digitally, including listening to the songs from the album without a CD player and viewing the artist's images.
After being done with the first stage, I started doing research on the product services and the target audience which later came out with 3 fiction User Personas and a User Journey Map.

There are 8 steps for the user experience journey which will be listed below:
1. Users open K-Pop AR App
• Problem #2
Problem: Users might be hesitant whether to install the album contents or not
Solution: Before installing the album contents, users will be informed of the content's file size
• Problem #3
Problem: Users might find it a hassle to repeat the process from the beginning every time they want to access the content
Solution: Installed content can be found easily by going to the library, which is located beside the search icon on the homepage.
Find out more about my proposed idea and also the visualization of how the app will look in my proposal document below.

FEEDBACK
REFLECTIONS
I was very excited since the beginning to work on this project. Actually, I have heard about this project detail since last semester, so I already had my idea in my mind since half year ago. I am so happy that I can finally implement what I have in my mind for a long time ago. However, when working on it, I realized that the features I want to propose doesn't have enough impact. It can be acceptable but there's like nothing special that I can offer from this AR app. Hence, I am still trying to figure out and look for references anywhere to give add-ons to my AR app so it can be more interesting and not boring.
