INSTRUCTIONS
Project 2: Hybrid Lo-Fidelity Mobile App Development
In this project, students were assigned to choose the most important pages from their App Design I's redesigned app. Those most important pages have to include the main objective of the app. From the chosen pages, students were asked to explore the design patterns and build a simple app structure that can be further developed and enhance for their actual app project.
In my case, I'm still using my past semester's app, which is Beyond LIVE. Since the app focuses more on watching artist's live performances/concert shows, I will only focus to build the app flow from the splash screen to the watch page (including purchase pages).
I started to look for animation references and try to explore them in Figma. After making sure that everything will work well if I develop it into the front-end part, I proceed to make the animation planning in FigJam. Here's my FigJam.
My works on Figma can be seen below. *To view the prototype in a better experience, kindly change the viewing option to fit to screen.
I also provided a presentation video to explain my animation plan for Beyond LIVE app and also a short walkthrough video.
FEEDBACK
Mr. Razif told me to only focus on important pages which are needed to complete the objective of my app because it would be wasting too much time if I decide to work on unimportant pages. It will not only consume my precious time but also have me think more about the animation. I was also asked to make minor changes to my design as some text is too small and the color of the text needs to vary.
REFLECTIONS
While doing this task, I was quite excited because I think this is the time for me to explore more on UI animation as I have never done much to the animation in my designs before. I also have to think about whether I can proceed with the animation or not in the next project since we have to do the front end of the design with HTML, CSS, and GSAP from JavaScript. I think that we all as UI/UX designers have to be more considerate and try to make our design and animation as realistic as possible or else it will be a nightmare for the front-end developers to realize our requests.
